Description

The Best Tartar Sauce – creamy, tangy and perfect for seafood.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise 
  • 3 tablespoons dill pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon capers, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon milk, half and half, or cream
  • 2 tablespoons chives, finely chopped


Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine 1/3 cup mayonnaise and 3 tablespoons dill pickle relish.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon minced capers and stir until well incorporated.
  3. Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons dried minced onion, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon milk, and 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives.
  4. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are fully combined.
  5. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Add the fresh chives prior to serving if you are making in advance to avoid wilting.

I will sometimes add a little dill pickle relish juice to add an even tangier bite!
