The Best Tartar Sauce – creamy, tangy and perfect for seafood.
Ingredients

- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons dill pickle relish
- 1 teaspoon capers, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon milk, half and half, or cream
- 2 tablespoons chives, finely chopped
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, combine 1/3 cup mayonnaise and 3 tablespoons dill pickle relish.
- Add 1 teaspoon minced capers and stir until well incorporated.
- Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons dried minced onion, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon milk, and 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives.
- Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are fully combined.
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Add the fresh chives prior to serving if you are making in advance to avoid wilting.
I will sometimes add a little dill pickle relish juice to add an even tangier bite!
