Description

Cinnamon Sugar Donuts made with biscuit dough – a quick sweet treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7.5 oz can biscuit dough
  • ½ cup white granulated sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • Neutral oil for frying, such as avocado, canola, vegetable

Instructions

  1. Pour 2–3 inches of neutral oil into a pot or deep pan. Heat the oil to 325–350°F.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix 1/2 cup white granulated sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon until well combined. Set aside.
  3. Lay out the biscuit dough. Using a 1-inch cookie cutter or any round object (bottle cap, shot glass), cut out the centers of each biscuit to form classic donut shapes. Save the centers to fry as donut holes.
  4. Carefully place 2–3 donuts into the hot oil at a time, depending on the size of your pot. The donuts will sink and then float to the surface. Fry for about 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Use tongs to flip and remove once both sides are golden.
  5. Immediately place the hot donuts in the cinnamon sugar mixture and coat both sides. The first coat will melt slightly, roll a second time for more sweetness.
  6. Serve warm. These are best enjoyed within a few hours of frying.

Notes

Do a double roll! Roll the donuts in the cinnamon sugar mixture twice for extra coating.

Enjoy within a few hours for maximum freshness and pillowy goodness.
