Perfect for Valentine’s Day.

These Valentine’s Mini M&M Rice Krispie treats are thick, chewy, and packed with pink and red mini M&M’s. They come together in less than 30 minutes and make the cutest Valentine’s Day no bake dessert.

Mini M&Ms

One of my favorite candies to grab at the grocery store checkout as a kid were the mini M&Ms in the blue tube. I still look at them every time I go…they taste so much better! It must be the candy shell to chocolate ratio.

This sweet treat combines the classic Rice Krispie treat with festive mini M&Ms and sprinkles. Need I say more?

Ingredients

Super short list of ingredients for this one. I love that.

  • Rice Krispies cereal – of course!
  • unsalted butter
  • mini marshmallows – melts a bit faster than the larger version
  • kosher salt – I use Diamond Crystal in all my recipes
  • mini M&Ms – I use the Valentine’s version for this recipe, pink and red
  • festive sprinkles – Walmart has great festive holiday sprinkles
A bowl of mini marshmallows, a bowl of Rice Krispies, half stick of wrapped butter, a clear bowl of salt, a pink and red bag of mini M&Ms, and a small clear bowl of sprinkles.

How to Make Valentine’s Mini M&M Rice Krispie Treats

  • Prep: Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy lifting once the treats are set. Melt the butter in a pot over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until just melted and smooth, then stir in the kosher salt.
  • Mix and Fold in Mini M&Ms: Remove the marshmallow mixture from the heat and let cool for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the Rice Krispies until coated, then very gently fold in the mini M&M’s.
  • Press in the Pan and Decorate: Transfer the Rice Krispie mixture into your parchment lined pan and gently press into an even layer. Sprinkle your Valentine’s sprinkles over the top and lightly press them in.
  • Set & Slice: Let sit at room temperature for 45 minutes before lifting out the parchment, cutting into squares, and serving.

How to Make Valentine’s Mini M&M Rice Krispie Treats Ahead of Time

You can make these Rice Krispie Treats a day in advance. Cool, cut, and store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Avoid refrigerating as it changes the texture of the treats.

These Reese’s Mini Hearts Peanut Butter Blossoms & Double Chocolate Chip Cookies can also be made in advance! They’re also equally as fun and festive.

Equipment I Use to Make Valentine’s Mini M&M Rice Krispie Treats

  • 8×8 Baking Pan – love USA Pan in my home
  • Unbleached Parchment Paper – lasts forever & it’s unbleached!

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I store leftover Rice Krispie treats?

Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.

How do I keep the Mini M&M’s from melting?

Let the marshmallow mixture cool for just a minute or two before very gently folding them in. A few may crack but it doesn’t take away from the final treat.
