Hummus Pizza

Perfect twist on a traditional pizza.

This Mediterranean inspired Hummus Pizza is delicious and packed full of flavor. Hummus, salty olives and feta, and a fresh bite with cherry tomatoes and red onion. A great lunch, dinner, or appetizer!

Pizza Crust!

I like to use a pre-made pizza dough/crust to make this dish even simpler. The Pillsbury thin & crispy pizza crust, found by the cans of cinnamon rolls, is super tasty and cooks up quickly and evenly.

A homemade or store bought fresh pizza dough will work great – just follow your usual baking instructions!

The crust will be fully baked before adding your toppings and does not go back in the oven once topped.

Hummus Pizza Toppings

Alright, we’ve talked pizza dough – let’s talk about the pizza toppings that make this so good!

Clear bowls filled with peppers, marinated artichoke hearts, feta, chopped red onion, cherry tomatoes, green and Kalamata olives and a dish of hummus.

Pizza is all about the toppings, at least in my mind. This pizza brings all the mediterranean flavors.

I used:

  • pesto hummus
  • chopped red onion
  • cherry tomatoes
  • green olives
  • kalamata olives
  • feta
  • marinated artichoke hearts
  • pepperoncini

I also topped with some flaky salt and fresh cracked pepper. It needs very little salt given many of these toppings are already salty.

Use your favorite classic hummus or switch it up with a flavored hummus – so many options to really customize the flavor profile of the pizza.

If you’re not a fan of olives (a hot take) – remove them! Customize the toppings to your liking!

More Protein?

Cooked, chopped chicken would be a great addition to this pizza if you’re looking for more protein or to beef it up for dinner. Just ensure the chicken is fully cooked as it won’t be heated in the oven.

You could drizzle Tzatziki sauce over the top – a greek yogurt based sauce which will provide a protein kick and a saucier pizza (if that’s what you’re into)!

Looking for something else with similar Mediterranean flavors – Greek Tzatziki Pasta Bowls are a crowd favorite!

Description

Hummus, salty olives and feta, and a fresh bite with cherry tomatoes and red onion – all on a pizza crust. A great lunch, dinner, or appetizer!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pizza crust (I use the refrigerated Pillsbury thin and crispy pizza crust)
  • ? cup of hummus, flavor of choice
  • ¼ cup red onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup kalamata olives
  • ¼ cup green olives
  • ? cup feta cheese
  • ¼ cup cherry tomatoes
  • ¼ cup marinated artichoke hearts, chopped
  • ¼ cup pepperonicinis, chopped

Instructions

  1. Fully bake your pizza crust according to package directions on a sheet tray – you want it to be golden brown as we will not be putting it back in the oven.
  2. In the meantime, dice your red onion, halve the cherry tomatoes, and chop the marinated artichoke hearts and pepperonicinis.
  3. Once baked, remove the pizza crust from the oven.
  4. Spread the hummus on the crust in a thin layer.
  5. Top the pizza with all of your desired toppings:
    • Red onion
    • Kalamata olives
    • Green olives
    • Feta cheese
    • Cherry tomatoes
    • Artichoke hearts
    • Pepperoncinis
  6. Slice and serve!

Notes

If you’re looking for more protein – add some chopped, fully cooked chicken!

If you like an extra saucy pizza – drizzle some tzatziki sauce over the top!

Change or remove toppings as you desire!
